Taking a good hard look at yourself in the mirror is difficult for everyone. Not only does it require that you’re willing to look at your faults, but it also requires a desire to improve in the first place. This is something many struggle with for various reasons, and may be the very source of the many issues they face in their lives. I’d like to talk about the art of looking at yourself honestly and the many benefits you get from doing this.

Self Reflection Question

What uncomfortable truth about myself have I been avoiding, and how has that avoidance impacted my life?

This question prompts you to confront aspects of yourself that may be difficult to acknowledge. Griffin emphasizes that avoiding honest self-examination can lead to stagnation in various areas of life, such as career, relationships, and personal development. By identifying and facing these truths, you open the door to meaningful change.

Self-Improvement Challenge

Make a list of your fears, take a good hard look at them, and choose 1 fear a day to face and overcome.

The goal is to build the “muscle” of courage by consistently confronting and addressing areas of discomfort.
