In today’s competitive world, everyone wants to be a leader, but to be completely honest, not everyone has the mindset for it. A worker’s mindset is not the same as a CEO mindset, but many workers go into business looking to become their own boss and be able to “leave the rat race” for greener pastures. Well it takes a certain type of thinking to be a successful CEO, and I’d like to break down that thinking for others to take advantage of that as well.

Self-Reflection Question

Where in my life am I thinking like an employee instead of a leader—and how is that limiting my decisions, growth, or impact?

This question pushes you to confront a mindset of dependency, blame, or passivity. GI Griffin challenges you to take ownership like a CEO—not just of a business, but of your life. CEOs don’t wait for direction—they create it. They think long-term, own the outcome, and make decisions that move things forward.

Self-Improvement Challenge

For the next 7 days, act like the CEO of your life. Each morning, write down 1 area where you’ve been reactive instead of strategic—and take one action to fix or lead it.

The goal is to rewire your thinking from reactive to responsible. Whether it’s your money, time, health, relationships, or goals—start managing them like a CEO. Not emotionally. Strategically. Because that’s how leaders evolve.
